Testing Your Digital Skill Under Pressure!

I realize with glee that have an exciting career, and I never know what’s coming around the corner. This portrait/illustration commission of American astrophysicist, planetary scientist, author, and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson came to my studio (Young Mind Interactive) as a last minute opportunity. This online Zoom class gives Artists a comfort level for using Procreate APP on the iPad. I'll present a number of ways to speed up your creative workflow with your mobile device. This class has students using an iPad as a sketch pad, and uses a familiar, traditional approach to developing basic drawing skills. We'll cover file specifications and file sharing. Students should have a charged iPad, Apple pencil, and the APP Procreate already installed on your iPad.

This class has students using an iPad as a sketch pad, and uses a familiar, traditional approach to developing basic drawing skills. Students will learn the basics of drawing shapes, tones and shading using the APP “Procreate” on the Apple iPad with the Apple Pencil. We will also learn how to use the various painting tools in Procreate. We will be drawing Still-lifes, portraits, landscapes and figurative studies. Students should have a charged iPad, Apple pencil, and the APP Procreate already installed on your iPad.

New Illustration and Graphic Design Work Coming Into the Studio.
|
This has been a remarkable month for diverse illustration assignments, and interesting requests for graphic design and logo development. I am BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! As you can imagine, this Neil deGrasse Tyson portrait project took a lot of drawing time. I used the iPad and the APP Procreate and took about 60 hours just for his head.

I have also been designing classroom flags for client Reach the World. The logos I was commissioned to design to be featured in the flag template, are Science-based graphics designed to inform and teach. I used Adobe Illustrator and researched nature photography to create some of this. Check out the two recent flag designs here>
